ObjectiveThe study aimed to investigate the incidence of hypertension and risk factors among Community elderly in Jinzhou.To provide some reference for developing effective prevention strategies and interventions of senile hypertension.MethodsBetween December 2015 and August 2016,a cross-sectional design was used to conduct this study.300 elders were respectively selected from Linghe,Guta and Taihe districts in Jinzhou by convenience sampling method,who were given questionnaires and physical examinations.Topics covered include:general characteristics,basic situation of hypertension,prevalence and family history,behavior habits,eating habits;measurement of height,weight,Waist circumference,hip circumference,systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure.SPSS 21.0 was used to entry and analyze all data using ?2 test for univariate analysis and logistic regression for multivariate analysis.Results1.Jinzhou City residents which aged 60 or above of average level of SBP as(135.62±17.75)mm Hg,DBP average levels were(93.37±7.73)mm Hg,and the hypertension prevalence rate was 40.8%?2.?2 test of single factor showed that age group,education level,monthly income,hyperlipidemia,family history of hypertension,smoking,drinking,physical exercise,regular blood pressure measurement,food taste,frequency of eating seafood,frequency of eating meat,frequency of eating barbecue,central obesity and BMI were statistically correlation with hypertension prevalence(P<0.05);gender,work status,diabetes,coronary heart disease,chronic kidney disease and other diseases,family history of coronary heart disease and family history of diabetes,drinking tea or coffee,sleep time,frequency of eat eggs were not statistically associated with the prevalence of hypertension.3.Logistic analysis showed that age,income,family history of hypertension,drinking,measurement of blood pressure,food taste,frequency of eating seafood,frequency of eating barbecue and BMI were the risk factors of hypertension.Conclusions1.The rate of hypertension among the elderly in Jinzhou City was high,and the awareness rate of blood pressure was low.2.Older age,low income,family history of hypertension,drinking,irregular blood pressure,salty taste,high frequency of eating seafood,high frequency of eating barbecue,overweight and obesity were independent risk factors of hypertension3.The older elderly with low income,family history of hypertension,drinking,irregular blood pressure,salty taste,high frequency of eating seafood,high frequency of eating barbecue,overweight and obesity should be given more attention,and medical staff should carry out health education as soon as possible in order to change those unhealthy lifestyle and keep them maintain a healthy weight.Especially the elderly with family history of hypertension should particularly pay more attention to the prevention of hypertension.4.Under the grim situation of hypertension among community elderly in Jinzhou city,relevant departments should focus on the implementation of effective intervention programs and the prevention and treatment of the community elderly hypertension.
