Objective: This study aimed to investigate the current prevalence and to analyze the awareness, treatment, control status of hypertension,so as to explore the major risk factors and vulnerable population in Guizhou, and to provide basic data for the prevention on the disease. Methods: A total of 13 480 residents, aged 15 and above were selected and investigated in 8 counties by multi-stage random sampling method from Jul 2014 to Jan 2016.The survey included questionnaire survey and physical examination.Questionnaire was adopted to investigate the age, gender, region, profession, education level, marriage status, smoking and drinking history and history of hypertension, and physical examination included Blood pressure, weight, height and waistline were measured.Excel was employed for raw data process and SPSS 19.0was used for further statistical analysis. Results: 1.In present study, there were 13 480 valid individuals investigated(5509male and 7971 female),including 6558 urban residents and 6922 rural residents. The average daily smoking rate was 22.2%(male 52.1% and female 5.1%),and the rate of drinking, dangerous drinking and harmful drinking was 17.8%,1.0% and 3.3%,respectively.The rate of overweight and obesity was 26.6% and 9.5% based on body mass index(BMI).The rate of overweight and obesity was 29.8% and 14.2%,based on waistline.2.There were 3937 hypertension residents identified in the survey, including 482 hypertension patients, which were diagnosed ahead of the survey while their blood pressure were in normal level in the survey. The prevalence of hypertension in Guizhou was 29.2% in residents with age of 15 and above, and the standardized prevalence was 19.0%.Hypertension prevalence for male and female was 29.8% and 28.8%,respectively.Prevalence for rural population(35.8%)was higher than urban area(22.2%)(P <0.05).3.The awareness rate, treatment rate and control rate and control rate by treatment was 44.4%,33.3%,12.2%,and 28.7%,respectively.The awareness rate, treatment rate and control rate in urban area(47.9%,37.0% and 18.3%,respectively)was higher than that in rural area(42.4%,31.2% and8.7%,respectively).Treatment rate in female(35.5%)was higher than that in male(30.3%).Control rate was statisticall different in various education leve l(P<0.05).4The averagee SBP/DBP(Systolic blood pressure / Diastolic blood pressure)in male was 130.25±20.14 mm Hg/76.59±11.23 mm Hg,and 128.38±21.79 mm Hg/74.35±11.18 mm Hg in female.SBP/DBP and MAP(Mean arterial pressure)of male were higher than that of female and that in urban area were lower than that in rural area.5.There were 2132 ISH,193 IDH and 1130 SDH patient, which accounted for 61.7%,5.6% and 32.7%,respectively,were reported high blood pressure during the investigation. There were 5592(41.5%)in high-normal blood pressure value inverval, and 2114,907 and 434 for stage ? to ? hypertension, which accounted for61.2%,26.3% and 12.6% respectively.6.The multiple-factor logistic models showed that age, overweight, smoking, drinking, and rural residential were risk factors.Female and better-educated were protective factors. Conclusion: Reinforce the prevention of hypertension is necessary, although the prevalence of Guizhou is lower than that of national level. The rate of awareness, treatment and control is lower than that of developed country level.Compared with urban area, the prevalence in rural area is more severe. Therefore, control and prevention of hypertension should be reinforced, especially for rural area.Overweight and obesity as well as unhealthy life style such as smoking and drinking are the majority risk factors of hypertension in Guizhou.Solid implementation of hypertension prevention and health education combined with optimization of the health resources are of high significance.
