| With the rapid developments of the globalization and the information technology,the intercultural communications among different countries and regions have become increasingly popular.The documentary,thanks to its authenticity and its expression by using images,has the unparalleled advantage in intercultural communications compared with other cultural products.Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region,bordering on eight countries,is a multi-ethnic region in China where there are 47 nationalities living there.Since it is located in the center of the Silk Road Economic Belt,the intercultural communications between Xinjiang and the China mainland even the overseas will become more and more frequent.Therefore,it is necessary to study the intercultural communication of the diversified cultures in Xinjiang,China.Taking Xinjiang TV documentary A Bite of Xinjiang as an example,this thesis attempts to explore its success factors in intercultural communication by analyzing its theme,content,narrative characteristics,and communication methods.Then through the analysis of the deficiencies of the documentary,the author explores the problems currently existed in the intercultural communication of Xinjiang documentaries,and tries to propose some suggestions accordingly in Chapter 5.The author hopes to provide some thinking for the creators of Xinjiang documentaries to create more quality intercultural documentaries through this study,making Xinjiang documentaries a window for the audiences from both home and abroad to learn about people’s life and the diversified cultures in Xinjiang,China. |
