Objective: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence, awareness rate, treatment rate, and control rate of hypertension in three counties of northern Xinjiang. To analysis related factors of hypertension and provide scientific basis for future prevention. Methods: Individuals aged ?15 years was conducted using a stratified four-stage random sampling method in 18 villages from Hebusaier,Fuhai and Fukang in 2015.Questionnaire and physical examination were conducted in all individuals. All survey data construct storehouse after Excel2007 and carry on the statistical analysis with the SPSS19.0 statistical software.Continuous variables were presented as means ±standard deviations and were analyzed using t-test.Categorical variables were expressed as proportion(%)and frequency(n),and were analyzed using the Chi-square test.As for hypertension, adjusted odds ratio(OR)with associated 95% confidence interval(95%CI)were calculated using multivariate logistic regression. Results: In this investigation, the average systolic blood pressure in adults of three counties in northern Xinjiang was(125.5±19.5)mm Hg,and the average diastolic blood pressure was(75.0±11.3)mm Hg.The prevalence of hypertension in the three counties in northern of Xinjiang was 26.3%(95% CI:24.7%-27.9%),the prevalence of hypertension in men was 24.6%(95% CI: 22.3%-26.9%),and the rate was 27.8%(95% CI: 25.5%-30.1%)in women. The age-standardized prevalence of hypertension in men and women was 25.0% and 27.0%,respectively.The prevalence of hypertension in men was lower than that in women. The rate of awareness, treatment, and control of hypertension were 46.2%(95% CI:42.7%-47.9%),33.7%(95% CI: 30.4%-37.1%),and 11.0%(95%CI: 8.8%-13.3%),respectively.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the prevalence of hypertension was related to old age,Kazakh ethnicity,Mongolian ethnicity, lower education, increased BMI,and drinking. Conclusion: The prevalence of hypertension among the three counties in northern Xinjiang was higher than the national level of China. The prevalence of hypertension was higher in women than that in men.In addition, the prevalence of hypertension was related to old age,Kazakh ethnicity,Mongolian ethnicity, lower education, overweight, obesity, and drinking.
