Treatment Of Senile Dementia By Acupuncture Plus Moxibustion Clinical Observation Of (Spleen And Kidney Deficiency Type)

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with moxibustion at Beishu acupoint in treating senile dementia with spleen and kidney deficiency syndrome,and provide an effective new method for clinical treatment of senile dementia with spleen and kidney deficiency syndrome.Methods:The 60 patients with senile dementia collected in this study were randomly divided into two groups,30 in the control group,including 14 males and 16 females,with an average age of 76.03 ±6.33 years old,while the other 30 patients were in the treatment group,including 18 males and 12 females,with an average age of 75.50 ± 5.11 years old.The treatment group was treated with acupuncture comnined with moxibustion at Beishu acupoint,while the control group received traditional acupuncture treatment.Both groups were treated for 6 days,rest for 1 day,14 days for one course of treatment,and the total observation course is 2 for 28 days.During the observation,the scores of mini-mental state examination(MMSE),activities of daily living(ADL)as well as th e syndromes differentiation scale for dementia(SDSD)scales before and after treatment were analyzed by SPSS22.0 statistical software.Results:1.The treatment group could significantly improve the scores of MMSE and ADL in AD patients,which were significantly different from those in the control group(P < 0.05).2.The treatment group could significantly improve the scores of SDSD of AD patients,and the improvement was better than that of the control group(P < 0.05).3.The total effective rate of treatment group was 76.67%,and that of control group was 63.33%.There was a significant difference between thetwo groups(P < 0.05).Conclusion:1.Acupuncture combined with moxibustion at Beishu acupoint is effective in treating senile dementia(deficiency of both spleen and kidney).2.Acupuncture combined with moxibustion at Beishu acupoint can improve the cognitive ability and life living ability of patients with senile dementia(spleen and kidney deficiency type),and is superior to traditional acupuncture.3.Acupuncture combined with moxibustion at Beishu acupoint is able to improve the TCM syndromes of patients in senile dementia(deficiency of both spleen and kidney),and is superior to traditional acupuncture.
