Clinical Observation Of Acupoint Application Combined With Oral Mesalazine In The Treatment Of Ulcerative Colitis Of Damp-heat Type Of Large Intestine

Objective:To observe the effect of acupoint application combined with oral mesalazine on intestinal mucosal repair,improvement of main and secondary symptoms,improvement of Mayo score and evaluation of curative effect of TCM syndromes in patients with ulcerative colitis of damp-heat type of large intestine.Methods:60 patients with ulcerative colitis who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,30 cases in treatment group and 30 cases in control group.The treatment group was treated with acupoint application combined with mesalazine enteric-coated tablets,while the control group was treated with mesalazine enteric-coated tablets only.The two groups were treated for one course of treatment on 7 days.After four courses of treatment,the improvement of intestinal mucosa,Mayo score,main and minor symptoms of TCM,and the evaluation of curative effect of TCM syndromes were observed.Results:1.Colonic mucosa evaluation analysis:After treatment,Baron scores of both groups were reduced,and there was statistical significance between the two groups and within the group.2.Mayo score improvement:after treatment,the total effective rate was 96.4%in the treatment group and 76.9%in the control group,with statistical significance(P<0.05).3.Evaluation of main and minor symptoms of TCM:There were significant differences between the two groups before and after treatment of each single symptom,with statistical significance.After treatment,there was no significant difference between the two groups except for short urine and red urine.There was significant difference between the other symptoms groups.4.Comparison of TCM syndromes:After treatment,the total effective rate of the treatment group was 85.7%,and that of the control group was 80.8%.There was statistical significance between the two groups.Conclusion:Acupoint application combined with oral mesalazine is more effective than oral mesalazine in the treatment of mild to moderate ulcerative colitis of damp-heat type of large intestine.It can be used as a new adjuvant therapy for UC.
