Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of traditional Chinese medicine retention enema combined with Acupoint Application in the treatment of mild to moderate damp-heat Ulcerative Colitis(UC)in active stage, and to provide an economic, safe and effective method for clinical intervention of UC.Method Based on TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment, meridian acupoint science and modern pharmacology, combined with famous and old TCM experiential prescriptions, this study formulated the intervention program of TCM retention enema combined with Acupoint Application on mild to moderate large intestine damp-heat UC in active period.According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the latest UC guidelines,a certain city from December 2017 to September 2018 was selected.75 cases of UC with mild to moderate damp-heat of large intestine were randomly divided into western medicine control group(group A)and traditional Chinese medicine control group(group B).In group C,25 patients were given Shuanghuang Decoction retention enema combined with Acupoint Application on the basis of basic treatment and nursing.10 days was a course of treatment, and the interval was 2 days. The self-conscious symptom score(modified Mayo score),inflammation index(ESR and CRP),curative effect score of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)and endoscopic intestinal mucosa score were observed and recorded before and after intervention in the three groups.Collect and collate experimental data, summarize and discuss through SPSS 17.0 analysis. Results 1.Baseline comparison:There was no significant difference in sex, age, educational background, duration of disease, extent of lesion, degree of lesion, modified Mayo score,ESR,CRP,TCM curative effect score and endoscopic bowel mucosa score among the three groups before intervention(p>0.05).2.Intra-group comparison:There were significant differences in the modified Mayo score,ESR,CRP,TCM efficacy score, endoscopic bowel mucosa score between the three groups after intervention and before intervention(p<0.05).3.Comparison between the groups(1)Modified Mayo score:There was significant difference among the three groups after intervention(p<0.05).The total effective rates of the three groups were 72.72%,85.71%and 91.30%respectively,and the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups(p>0.05),but the control group and the intervention group were better than the western medicine control group(p<0.05).(2)inflammatory markersThe inflammatory markers(ESR and CRP)of the three groups were statistically significant(p<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups(p>0.05),but the control group and the intervention group were better than the western medicine control group(p<0.05).(3)TCM efficacy scoreThere was a significant difference in the total score of TCM treatment between the three groups after intervention(p<0.05).The total effective rate of the three groups were 77.27%,85.71%and 95.65%respectively,and the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05).There was no significant difference in abdominal pain, diarrhea, mucopurulent stool and acute and severe symptoms between the two groups(P>0.05).The difference in other symptoms was significant(P>0.05).Statistical significance(p<0.05).(4)endoscopic mucosal scoreThe difference of endoscopic mucosal score between the three groups was statistically significant(p<0.05).The total effective rates of the three groups were 72.97%,88.88%and 97.36%respectively,with no statistical significance(p>0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups(p>0.05),but the control group and the intervention group were better than the western medicine control group(p<0.05).4.safety assessment of hemogram, biochemistry and related vital signs before and after interventionThere were no adverse reactions during the intervention, and there were no abnormalities in blood picture, biochemistry and related vital signs before and after the intervention. All the three methods were safe. Conclusion This study shows that Chinese herbal retention enema combined with acupoint application is effective in the treatment of mild to moderate large intestine damp-heat UC patients in active stage, which can effectively alleviate clinical symptoms such as abdominal pain and diarrhea, reduce inflammation index, improve symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine, repair intestinal mucosa and heal ulcers, and is safe and effective.Economical and convenient treatment is worthy of extensive clinical practice and promotion.
