Objective: A meta-analysis was conducted to compare the clinicopathologic features and prognostic of breast cancer patients with single hormone receptor positive(ER-positive/PR-negative or ER-negative/PR-positive)to those of patients with ER-positive/PR-positive or triple negative. Methods: Pubmed,Web of Science,Science Direct,Wanfang Database,China journal full-text database(CNKI),and the Chinese biomedical literature database(CBM)were searched by computer.A systematic review related literature, the clinical study screened patients with single hormone receptor positive(ER-positive/PR-negative or ER-negative/PR-positive)to compare with those of patients with ER-positive/PR-positive or ER-negative/PR-negative to make clear the difference of prognostic and clinicopathologic features.Revman5 was used for statistical analysis of the included data. Results: A total of 16 studies met the inclusion criteria, including 1034919 breast cancer patients.Patients with ER-positive/PR-negative or ER-negative/PR-positive phenotype had significantly worse overall survival(OS)(HR 1.67,95% CI 1.52-1.83,HR 1.62,85% CI 1.25-2.12)than those of patients with ER-positive/PR-positive phenotype.Patients with ER-positive/PR-negative had worse disease-free survival(DFS)and breast-specific survival(BCSS)than those of patients with ER-positive/PR-positive(HR 1.61,95% CI 1.38-1.87 and HR 1.92,95% CI 1.53-2.41).In Subgroup analysis, patients with ER-positive/PR-negative and ER-negative/PR-positive tumors had a higher risk of recurrence than patients with ER-positive/PR-positive tumors. The single hormone receptor-positive breast cancer patients has a better benefit than patients with ER-negative/PR-negative,and those people with ER-positive/PR-negative performed better. Conclusions: In hormone receptor positive breast cancer patients, patients with ER-positive/PR-negative or ER-negative/PR-positive have higher risk of recurrence and shorter survival time than those of patients with ER-positive/PR-positive.Compared with those ER-negative/PR-negative breast cancer patients, patients with single hormone receptor-positive have a favorable prognosis because of the benefit of endocrine therapy. Both types of single hormone receptor-positive breast cancer patients require additional treatment in addition to the intramural therapy. |
