| Research on emotional intelligence(EI)has flourished since the 1990 s.But up to now,the concept and theoretical model of emotional intelligence are still different,and there is no unified definition,so different emotional intelligence measurement tools are formed on the basis of different theories.Based on xu yuanli’s three-dimensional theoretical model of emotional intelligence,this study developes Emotional Intelligence scale for college students based on video materials.This study sorted out the theories and measuring tools of emotional intelligence with different orientations,and raised questions from the aspects of theoretical models and measuring tools,and then based on previous studies,selected video materials and scale items,selected different college students as subjects to make two predictions on the scale,and formed a formal scale of emotional intelligence for college students based on video materials through item identification analysis and exploratory factor analysis.The formal scale of emotional intelligence for college students based on video materials was used to test the reliability and validity of the scale again,and the general characteristics and development status of emotional intelligence of college students were investigated at the same time.The research results are as follows:(1)The feasibility of adding video materials to the scale is verified by the development of the emotional intelligence scale for college students based on video materials.In this study,we evaluate the pleasure and arousal of the video clips,and selecte 10 video materials.Among them,the pleasure of positive emotional videos are significantly higher than that of negative emotional videos.In terms of arousal,positive emotional videos and negative emotional videos have higher arousal.Then the items of the scale are compiled according to the video material,and the reliability and validity of the scale are acceptable,so it is feasible to add the video material to the scale.(2)The structure of the self-compiled emotional intelligence scale for college students based on video materials is consistent with the theoretical model of three-dimensional structure of emotional intelligence.Through exploratory factor analysis of three dimensions(self-oriented dimension,others-oriented dimension and environment-oriented dimension),it is found that the factor load explore by threedimensions is better.Through confirmatory factor analysis,it is found that all the indicators of the scale are in accordance with the statistical standards,which indicate that the self-compiled scale have a good fit with the three-dimensional structure theory model of emotional intelligence.(3)This study uses the self-compiled “emotional intelligence scale for college students based on video material” as a tool to investigate the characteristics of emotional intelligence of college students.The results show that the emotional intelligence of college students shows a positive trend on the whole.There are significant differences in gender,subject nature,whether or not the only child variable,but there is no significant difference in the source variable. |
