Analysis Of Musical Compositions And Performance—The Nutcracker Suite For Twin-piano By Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky

The Nutcracker,as one of Tchaikovsky’s most representative ballets with artistic charm,includes the ballets Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty.The birth of these three works embodies Tchaikovsky’s life-long painstaking efforts and creative spirit and has high artistic value and research significance.The work Nutcracker is based on Nutcracker and Mouse King.The ballet Nutcracker meets people’s aesthetic requirements at all stages,making it widely spread.The appearance of the double piano version has become one of the repertoire that many piano players must play.The last one of the two concerts I attended during my graduate school was the double piano.In my daily study,I also played a large number of other composers’ double piano works with my classmates,so I had more research on double piano.Based on an in-depth analysis of Tchaikovsky’s creative life and background,this paper analyzes the musical features of the double piano work Nutcracker.The author uses the method of music composition analysis to analyze the musical form of the four chapters "prelude","March","coffee" and "flute dance music" in the suite,and analyzes the characteristics from the musical composition of tonality,musical form,phrase,melody and rhythm.Based on the collected theoretical achievements related to performance and own practical experience,the author sums up the practical application in performance from the aspects of pre-performance practice,cooperation and problems that should be paid attention to in cooperation.The author puts forward the methods and importance of the practice and cooperation of the first piano and the second piano in the process of double piano performance.On the basis of summarizing the creative features and performance points of the double piano Nutcracker,the article grasps the artistic charm of its creation in order to provide reference theoretical basis for relevant researchers of the work.
