With the rise of China's international influence,more and more overseas Chinese Youth have come to their hometowns to experience the best traditional culture through “Seeking Roots Summer Camp”.The oral class teaching of “Seeking Roots Summer Camp” have attracted many people to do reserch.They made many attempts in how to effectively play the role of oral class in a short period and maximize the interest of students in learning Chinese.Recently,Task-based teaching method is increasingly applied to the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.In the process of participating in the summer camp teaching practice,the author tries to apply the task-based teaching method to the oral class in the “Seeking Roots Summer Camp”,thus exploring whether the task-based teaching method is applicable to the summer camp of the “Seeking Roots Summer Camp”.This paper is based on the analysis of the characteristics of the task-based teaching method and the Chinese class course of the Huaqiao University,to analyze the feasibility of the application of the task-based teaching method in the Chinese oral class course of the Huaqiao University.And then,taking the oral class in the language course as an example,a detailed teaching design is made from the two teaching scenes in the classroom simulation and teaching.And the teaching design is applied to four different teaching practices.Through the questionnaire survey of teaching effects,this paper illustrates the rationality of this teaching design and the applicability of task-based teaching method in the summer camp for root-seeking journey.I analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the task-based teaching method in the summer course of the Root-seeking Tour of Huaqiao University,and then puts forward some suggestions on the oral course of the summer camp.In the process of teaching practice,the author finds that the application of task-based teaching method in oral Chinese can achieve a good teaching effect.The data of the questionnaire also shows us how much students like this teaching mode.In the course of the task,the teaching objectives of the oral class are well completed,and the content learned is considered to be helpful for their actual life.All of theabove indicate that this teaching design has well implemented the principles of authenticity and practicability of task-based teaching methods,and has stimulated students' enthusiasm for Chinese learning.At the end of the paper,based on the problems encountered in teaching practice,the author puts forward the following suggestions for the teaching of the summer camp of Huaqiao University's “Seeking Roots Summer Camp”: strengthening professional training of teachers,introducing effective evaluation mechanism and rational use of the network tools.
