Constructivism has been strongly advocated by experts in China and introduced into the study of foreign language teaching since the beginning of the 21 st century.While Constructivism was mostly applied to the teaching fields of speaking,writing,reading and listening in junior high school or college,the number of studies of Constructivism-based grammar teaching in senior high schools was relatively small.Besides,English Curriculum Standards for General Senior High Schools in 2017(hereafter shortened as Curriculum Standards)emphasizes that it is necessary to develop students' English grammar awareness through various English learning and practical activities.Thus,it is crucial to do research on Constructivism-based grammar teaching in the context of Curriculum Standards.The author applies Constructivism to the teaching of English grammar.And by using experimental method,questionnaire method and interview method,this paper aims to answer the following questions:(1)Is Constructivism-based grammar teaching helpful to mobilize students' learning enthusiasm and initiative in senior high schools?(2)Is it beneficial to cultivate students' good grammar learning habits?(3)Is it conducive to improve students' English grammar scores?The research shows that Constructivism-based English grammar teaching has positive impacts in the following aspects:(1)Constructivism-based English grammar teaching is helpful to mobilize students' initiative and stimulate students' enthusiasm.(2)It is beneficial for students to cultivate their grammar learning habits such as autonomous learning habits and cooperative habits.(3)It is conducive for students to improve their English grammar scores.It is believed that teachers play important roles in Constructivism-based grammar teaching.After the research,some of suggestions were listed as follows: firstly,teachers should bear Constructivism-based grammar teaching concept in mind and try to adapt themselves to new roles;secondly,teachers ought to respect students' proper suggestions in learning;thirdly,teachers are supposed to provide students with a relaxed and pleasant learning atmosphere in the process of teaching;fourthly,teachers ought to design reasonable,effective and contextual activities to encourage learners' active participationin English learning;lastly,teachers need guide students to learn and apply grammatical knowledge in context so as to strengthen students' awareness of using language.
