Research On Social Work Intervention In Urban Mutual Assistance For The Aged

With the intensification of the aging population and urbanization,the problem of old-age care for the urban elderly in our country is further highlighted under the current serious shortage of resources for old-age service and the increasing demand for quality of life by the old people,and the increasing concern about the emotional and spiritual world.As home-based care,community-based care,institutional care and other old-age care models are far from meeting the needs of the elderly,therefore,as a new type of old-age care model—mutual help old-age care has gradually become popular and has been promoted throughout the country.Due to the influence of various factors,China's urban mutual pension service is still relatively lagging,and it also encounters many difficulties in its operation.The intervention of social work can effectively improve the professional level of urban mutual assistance and elderly care services and solve these problems.This research is guided by the energy-enhancing theory,ecosystem theory and social support theory,and has studied the role and effect of social work in the mutual assistance pension service in the B street of Qingdao.First,through literature review and practical investigations in the six communities in the B street,we explored the problems faced by the elderly in the community in their daily lives and their willingness and reasons for participating in the mutual assistance service for the elderly in the city.Secondly,in response to the concerns,worries,and diversified needs of urban elderly people participating in mutual assistance,the workers analyzed the necessity and feasibility of social work involved in urban mutual assistance services.Thirdly,in order to solve the various problems faced by the elderly in urban dilemmas and promote the healthy development of mutual assistance and old-age support,workers have used the three major methods of social work,namely case work,group work and community work,to intervene in urban mutual-support and old-age care services.Finally,through assessments from different dimensions,it is concluded that social work is involved in urban mutual assistance and elderly care services,which enhances the mutual assistance awareness of the urban elderly and promotes the effective integration of community resources,which is conducive to the further promotion of mutual assistance and elderly care in the community.From the perspective of the whole process of social work involved in mutual assistance,it also presents some problems in its specific operation,such as insufficient investment of funds,immature organization and management security system,and low attention of community workers.Based on the above-mentioned problems,the workers have reflected and put forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions,in order to enrich the social work involved in the research on mutual assistance and elderly care services,and promote the practice of this service,so as to improve the urban mutual assistance and elderly care service system,and make up for insufficient.
