With the rapid economic development,environmental issues are becoming more and more serious and have attracted great social attention.The business community has begun to adopt environmental protection practices to deal with environmental problems,which depend on the accumulation of employee green behaviors.Therefore,how to effectively promoting employee green behavior has become one of the hot topics for both scholars and practitioners.Environmentally specific transformational leadership is considered as a typical type of green leadership behavior,while the previous research mainly focused on the impact of employee environmental attitudes,motivations and emotions,etc.There is still a lack of sufficient understanding of how employees internalize environmental protection roles in self-concepts to form environmental selfpositions and the resulting incentive effects under the influence of environmental transformational leadership.We explore the influence mechanism based on cultural self-representation theory.In addition,we discuss the moderation of the man-nature orientation as a boundary condition.After analyzing data through a questionnaire survey of 362 employees of a manufacturing company,result shows that environmentally specific transformational leadership can promote employee green behavior and the formation of employee environmental self-efficacy.Employee environmental self-identity plays a mediating role between environmentally specific transformational leadership and employee green behavior.Employee man-nature orientation not only positively moderates both the relationship between environmentally specific transformational leadership and employee environmental self-identity/self-efficacy,but also it strengthens the mediating effect of employee environmental self-identity between environmentally specific transformational leadership and employee green behavior.These conclusions can provide theoretical implication and practical inspiration for improving green management practice in enterprises and achieving economic growth and sustainable environmental development.
