Study On Zhang Yuansu’s Academic Thought Of Five Movements And Six Qi From The Perspective Of Medical Origin

Objective: From the perspective of Medical Origin,the author Zhang Yuansu’s academic thought of five evolutive phases and six climatic factors was deeply excavated,so as to better protect and carry forward Zhang Yuansu’s academic thought and clinical application experience,enrich the theory,promote its further integration together with TCM and its wider application.Methods: Based on the version of Medical Origin published by China Traditional Chinese Medicine Press and collated by Ren Yingqiu and Ren Tingge,by carefully,systematically and repeatedly reading the full text of the writings,and cosulting to the correlative medical works,especially the Huangdi Neijing.the theoretical research method and statistical analysis method are used as the prime methods,thus excavating,sorting out,analyzing,summarizing the theory expounded by Zhang Yuansu in his book " Medicine Origin " and his clinical application experience.Results:1.Zhang Yuansu takes the theory of five evolutive phases and six climatic factors as the main line on the volume of Medical Origin,and mainly discusses the syndrome differentiation based on the zang-fu in the upper part,the main syndromes and outcomes of diseases,etc.He created "Six Tibetan Images of Heaven and Earth" at the beginning of the volume,and then expounded the relationship between zang-fu viscera and meridians,the mechanism of pulse manifestation,disease of five evolutive phases,and finally expounded the characteristics and treatment of six climatic factors.2.Zhang Yuansu used the theory to explain the characteristics of diseases in detail in the middle part of the volume of Medical Origin.He also classified prescriptions according to the attribute of six climatic factors and the efficacy of prescriptions,and elaborated six types of prescriptions: wind,summer-heat,wet-soil,fire,dryness and cold-water.3.Zhang Yuansu used the theory to release chinese materia medica and solve prescriptions in the lowest part of the volume of Medical Origin.He explained the chinese materia medicinal properties of "thick and smell,cold and heat,yin and yang,rising and falling",and made it intuitive and easy to understand.He divided chinese materia medica into five categories according to its efficacy: wind rising,heat floating,wet forming,dryness decreasing,and cold sinking.This classification method is both innovative and practical.He also worked out the "the method of create prescription of mutual production and destruction of five phases " by using the theory,and listed his own two prescriptions after this method to " teach people the way to syndrome differentiation and create prescription ".Conclusion:1.Zhang Yuansu pays great attention to the theory,which is often used.He adheres to the theory in Huangdi Neijing in analyzing the mechanism of pathological changes,treating principles and methods,and dispatching prescriptions and chinese materia medica,but he does not stick to it.He learns from the past and establish a self-contained law.2.Zhang Yuansu used the theory to form his own complete and unique theoretical system.He also propose the method of tonifying and purging when using zang-fu viscera.he classified prescriptions and chinese materia medica combined with the theory according to its efficacy.He also created the system of the method of create prescriptionand established the pharmacology of law images,which immensely boosted the abundance and expanding of the theory,and exerted a active and extensive effect on the later medical.3.Zhang Yuansu’s theory is closely combined with clinical practice,with principle-method-recipe-medicines,which can be described as "internal medicine of five evolutive phases and six climatic factors" and is very practical.4.Zhang Yuansu’s academic thought contains profound materialist dialectics thought.He abides by the objective fact that time and space change from time to time,and puts forward his unique opinion that "five evolutive phases and six climatic factors is inconformity" should be applied flexibly according to the times.
