| Situational Language Teaching Method(SLTM)is a very mature foreign language teaching method both in theory and practice.It is generally believed that the construction of the scenarios requires the learning population to have a certain psychological and intellectual level in the learning,so the application of this teaching method is mostly focused on the learning population above the vocational high school level.According to a lot of recent relevant literature,SLTM has not received sufficient attention and application in primary school English teaching in China.This study attempts to explore the suitability of the application of SLTM in primary school English teaching.The experimental research method is adopted to examine the situation setting,situation types and situation content of SLTM in primary school English teaching.The experimental group has carried out SLTM and the control group has employed the traditional teaching method for a one-year experimental study.At the end of the experiment,SPSS statistical software was used to process and analyze the data.The experimental results showed that SLTM can improve the situation of classroom teaching,enhance students’ interest and initiative in English learning.It can be assumed that the reasonable and appropriate use of SLTM in primary school English teaching can improve students’ English learning performance to a certain extent. |
