Application Of Colour Theory In Children’s Picture Books

Childhood is the period when individuals experience the most vigorous growth and development,the fastest changes,and the strongest flexibility.In this period,children’s feelings,understanding,discrimination and selection for objects first originate from colors,so color plays an important part in children’s physical and mental development.As an important part of children’s color education,chromatic picture books for children are the first color knowledge carrier contacted by children,which create a colorful imagination space for children,and help children to develop color cognitive ability,appreciation ability,and conceptual thinking ability.Meanwhile,chromatic picture books themselves have a unique artistic form and artistic charm.This research focuses on the relationship between the principles of chromatics and the chromatic picture books for children,and studies how to enable children to better accept and recognize color,so that color can play a role of enlightenment.1.Based on the theory of chromatics and children’s cognitive psychology,this paper analyzes the application of color in chromatic picture books in combination with the current situation of chromatic picture books in China and the most popular chromatic picture books in the market.2.Based on the previous part of the theoretical research,this paper carries out a survey of the current situation in which kindergartens use chromatic picture books,uses SD semantic analysis method to test children’s color perception and color association,and analyzes all the results.3.Taking the above theoretical background,on-the-spot investigation,analysis and induction as the theoretical support for the whole creation theories of the picture books for children,this paper attempts to put forward a comprehensive chromatics-based strategy for the creation of the chromatic picture books for children,and creates a chromatic picture book for children"What am I".An excellent chromatic picture book for children conveys the most cutting-edge visual enlightenment,releases children’s infinite imagination,perception and creativity,and provides each child with experience and enlightenment about beauty in the noncopyable growth period.
