Writing is an expressive skill,the embodiment of students’ comprehensive ability of language-using,and the integration of vocabulary,basic grammatical skills,logical thinking ability and discourse conception ability.General High School English Curriculum Standard(2017 Edition)makes the following special requirements for college entrance examination English writing: students should effectively state events,transmit information,express personal views and emotions,and embody intention,attitude and value orientation.In order to improve the students’ English writing ability and cultivate their active English writing habits,the author,under the guidance of the PAD class,the theory of input and output and the theory of whole foreign language teaching,has designed a one-semester teaching experiment on English writing for senior three students,referring to the Standard of Grading English Compositions for the National Uniform Examination of Enrollment in Colleges and Universities.In this way,the author try to “divide” the rights and responsibilities of teachers and students apart,so that teachers can change their ideas and become guiding teachers,and students can explore their writing skills independently,and experience the humanistic and instrumental development of the English language application ability.The specific research questions are:(1)can the writing teaching under the PAD classroom model improve the English writing ability of senior three students?(2)can the writing teaching under the PAD classroom model cultivate the active English writing habits of senior three students? For the above purposes,this paper mainly adopts the methods of interviewing teachers,comparing two questionnaires for students before and after the experiment,and comparing the students’ scores from three English writing tests.The experimental results show that under the PAD class teaching model,English writing teaching in senior three can promote students’ ability to improve the following abilities in the process of writing: integrity and richness of content,flexibility in vocabulary selection and application,diversity in sentence structure selection,and attention paid to the transition and cohesion of the text to maintain the integrity of the article.At the same time,the improvement of writing ability can stimulate students’ interest in writing and cultivate their active writing habits.Based on the problems found in the research,the author puts forward the following suggestions: first,teachers should design the PAD writing class according to the specific teaching reality,not limited to the three stages or five steps;secondly,when applying the PAD model into the third three English writing teaching,the completion of the first draft and "LKB" homework requires strict supervision and implementation,which directly determines the teaching efficiency of the second writing class.
