Report On The Simulated Consecutive Interpreting For The Online Conference Of The Second China-Japan Forum On Power Batteries For New Energy Vehicles

“The 2nd China-Japan Forum on Power Batteries for New Energy Vehicles” was successfully held by QIBEBT,CAS in October 2020.This paper is the practice report of the simulated CI task conducted by the author for this conference.Taking the interpreting process of three professors’ English speeches as the research object,this paper summarizes the whole interpreting process,discusses problems that interpreters may encounter,and puts forward corresponding solutions according to these problems.This paper focuses on a detailed summary of special situations in the practice of online conference interpretation,such as the dual role of the PPT for interpreters,the lack of information caused by network delay,the difficulties caused by the absence of speakers,and the professionalism of the conference.The report also offers some solutions through the analysis of the problems.This report is summarized as follows: interpreters should further improve English professional level;facing of professional interpreting tasks,interpreters should have a more comprehensive understanding of the background knowledge;interpreter should cultivate a strong on-the-spot response ability to deal with various possible unexpected situations.
