In recent years,school soccer,as an important initiative to deepen the reform of school sports,has been a hot topic of discussion among all walks of life.From 2009,when the Ministry of Education and the State General Administration of Sports jointly issued the "Notice on National Youth Campus Football Activities",to 2015,when the General Office of the State Council issued the "Overall Program for the Reform and Development of Chinese Football",to 2020,when the National Youth Campus Football Leading Group Nowadays,the "four beams and eight pillars" of campus soccer have been built and the "interior decoration" has been fully opened.Campus soccer is the cornerstone of China's soccer development,and campus soccer coaches are the gelling agent for the development of the cornerstone,playing a pivotal role.The comprehensive development of school soccer requires not only the improvement of coaches' teaching and training level,but also the development of coaches' deep-seated characteristics,in which the competence level of school soccer coaches will directly determine the development of school soccer.This study takes the competency of secondary school soccer coaches in Tianjin as the research object.Firstly,we analyze the jobs of campus soccer coaches,and secondly,we extract the characteristic words related to the competency of campus soccer coaches by using the literature method and behavioral event interview method,and then delete and merge these words to compile an expert questionnaire on the importance of campus soccer coaches' competency,and finally determine 19 indexes.Based on the 19 competency indicators,a questionnaire on the competency of campus soccer coaches was prepared,and then an exploratory factor analysis was conducted on the data collected from the questionnaire to construct a model on the competency of secondary school soccer coaches in Tianjin,and the validation factor analysis was applied to validate the model and test the fit of the data and the model.The findings of the study are as follows.1.An exploratory factor analysis was conducted to construct a competency model for secondary school soccer coaches in Tianjin.The model consists of four dimensions of personal mental quality,cognitive structure,establishing and developing relationships,and professional level and 19 competency indicators,among which the personal mental quality dimension includes initiative,difficulty solving ability,achievement motivation,flexibility,perseverance,and self-control ability;the cognitive structure dimension includes analysis and summarizing ability,innovation ability,continuous learning ability,and attention to details;the establishing and developing relationships dimension includes Influence,ability to guide players,motivation,empathy,and communication;professional level dimension includes organizational and coordination ability,ability to make plans,technical diagnostic ability,and clinical command ability.2.The validation of the model was conducted by validation factor analysis,through which it was concluded that the model was able to show a high level of fit indicators such as RMSEA,GFI and CFI,indicating that the four-dimensional structure model could better summarize the competency level of secondary school soccer coaches in Tianjin.3.The reliability and validity tests of the questionnaire in this study showed that the competency of secondary school soccer coaches in Tianjin can be reflected by their behaviors in the actual work,and each question can truly and accurately reflect the work characteristics of secondary school soccer coaches in Tianjin,which provides a reference measurement tool for evaluating the competency level of secondary school soccer coaches in Tianjin.4.The competency model constructed in this study can provide strong support and reference for the recruitment and selection,performance management,training management and career planning of secondary school soccer coaches in Tianjin.
