Objective:Yi Qi Yang Yin Pills are commonly used in our department to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus with Qi and Yin deficiency and stasis. In this study,we analyzed the clinical efficacy and safety of Yi Qi Yang Yin Pill in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus with Qi-Yin deficiency and stasis, and provided ideas and basis for the clinical treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus with Qi-Yin deficiency and stasis. Methods:Using the retrospective research method, according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria.Eighty patients with type 2 diabetes with deficiency of both qi and yin and blood stasis syndrome were selected from the outpatient and inpatient department of endocrinology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2019 to December 2021.According to whether to take Yiqi Yangyin pills, they were divided into control group and treatment group, with 40 cases in each group. Both groups of patients were given routine education in hospital or outpatient service. The control group was treated with oral hypoglycemic drugs of western medicine, and the treatment group was treated with Yiqi Yangyin pill on the basis of the control group. The observation period of the two groups was 12 weeks,The data of fasting blood glucose(FBG),2-hour postprandial blood glucose(2hPG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),blood lipids(TC,TG,HDL-C,LDL-C),TCM syndrome score, body mass index(BMI),total effective rate and adverse reactions were collected and sorted out before and after treatment. The data were analyzed by SPSS26.0 statistical software.Results:1.In terms of gender, age, and length of sickness, there was no statistical difference between the two groups prior to treatment(P > 0.05),and they were all comparable.2.Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of body mass index, overall TCM symptom score, blood glucose index,or blood lipid index(P > 0.05),all of which were comparable.3.After treatment, the indexes of FBG,2hPG and HbA1 c in both groups decreased compared with before, with statistical differences(P < 0.05),and the levels of FBG,2hPG and HbA1 c in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group, with statistical differences(P < 0.05).4.After treatment,TG,TC and LDL-C decreased and HDL-C increased in both groups compared to the previous one, with statistical differences(P <0.05).Also,the TG level in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P < 0.05),whereas the levels of TC,LDL-C,and HDL-C in the treatment group were not statistically different from those in the control group(P > 0.05).5.After treatment, the BMI of patients in both groups decreased compared with that before, with a statistically significant difference(P < 0.01),and the BMI of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P < 0.05).6.After treatment, the total TCM symptom score of both groups decreased compared with the previous one, with a statistically significant difference(P <0.01),and the total score of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P < 0.01).7.After treatment, the individual TCM symptom scores of both groups decreased compared with those before, with statistical differences(P < 0.05);the treatment group was better than the control group in improving thirst and drinking, shortness of breath and lazy speech, tiredness and fatigue, insomnia and dreaminess, numbness of limbs and spontaneous sweating and night sweating, with statistical differences(P < 0.05).There was no statistical difference between the two groups in terms of improvement of the five hearts being troubled and hot, chest tightness and tingling, and palpitation and restlessness(P > 0.05).8.Comparison of the overall efficacy of patients in the two groups after treatment: the total effective rate of TCM symptoms in the treatment group was 90.00% and the total effective rate of blood sugar was 90.00%,while the total effective rate of TCM symptoms in the control group was 80.00% and the total effective rate of blood sugar was 82.50%,the overall efficacy of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group, with statistical differences(P < 0.05).9.No adverse events occurred in either group.Couclusions:1.The combination of Yi Qi Yang Yin Pill and Western medicine was effective in treating patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with Qi and Yin deficiency and stasis evidence, and was superior to oral Western medicine treatment alone.2.The combination of Yi Qi Yang Yin Pill and western medicine treatment can significantly improve the blood glucose and blood lipid indexes and reduce BMI in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with Qi and Yin deficiency and stasis evidence, and the efficacy is better than oral western medicine treatment alone.3.The combination of Yi Qi Yang Yin Pill and western medicine treatment can reduce the total TCM symptom score of patients and significantly improve their TCM symptoms, and is more effective than oral western medicine treatment alone in improving thirst and drinking, shortness of breath and lazy speech, tiredness and fatigue, insomnia and dreaminess, numbness of limbs and spontaneous sweating.4.Yi Qi Yang Yin Pill has a good safety profile and is worthy of further promotion and application in clinical practice.
