Clinical Observation Of Quhan Tongbi Decoction In The Treatment Of Knee Osteoarthritis With Cold And Dampness Obstruction

Objective:To observe the efficacy and safety of Quhan Tongbi decoction in the treatment of Knee Oteoarthritis(KOA),so as to provide strong data support for scientific and effective clinical treatment.Methods:In this study,64 patients who met the diagnostic criteria of cold-dampness-blocking knee osteoarthritis were randomly divided into two groups: control group(n=32)and treatment group(n=32).The control group was given celecoxib capsules and chondroitin sulfate capsules.The treatment group was given self-designed Quhan Tongbi decoction on the basis of control group.The treatment course of both groups was 8 weeks.By comparing the changes of VAS score,WOMAC total score,TCM symptom score and total effective rate of the two groups before and after treatment,the excellence of the two treatments was evaluated.Results:1.Comparison of VAS score and WOMAC total score: VAS score and WOMAC total score of the two groups after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment(P < 0.05),but the treatment group was significantly better than the control group(P < 0.05).2.Comparison of TCM symptom scores: After treatment,the three main symptoms and the two sub-symptoms of stiffness and joint motion were significantly improved in the two groups(P < 0.05),while the two symptoms of waist and knee tenderness and aggravation of cold were not improved in the control group(P > 0.05).The two groups had similar efficacy in improving joint pain and swelling,but the improvement of joint weight,stiffness,range of motion,aggravation of cold and waist and knee tenderness in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group(P < 0.05).3.Comparison of total effective rate: The total effective rate of the treatment group was 86.67%,and that of the control group was 70%.The curative effect of the treatment group was significantly better than that of the control group(P < 0.05).4.There was 1 case of diarrhea in the treatment group,1 case of elevated liver function index ALT,1 case of mild nausea and 1 case of vomiting in the control group.Conclusion:1.Qucold Tongbi Decoction treats cold and dampness arthralgia type KOA,which can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms of patients,improve the function of knee joint and improve the quality of life of patients.2.Quhan Tongbi Decoction has less adverse reactions and high safety in the treatment of cold and dampness arthralgia KOA.
