Purpose: Observation on the clinical efficacy and safety of combining acupuncture with addition and subtraction of Guipi Tang in the treatment of constipation in Parkinson’s(PD)with Qi and Blood deficiency. Methods: Between September 2020 and December 2022,60 patients eligible for Parkinson’s constipation of the qi and blood deficiency type were collected in the inpatient department of Jiangxi Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and 60 patients were randomly divided into observation and control groups. While taking anti-Parkinson’s drugs, the control group was given oral lactulose treatment,15-30 ml each time, twice a day;The observation group was given oral Guipi decoction,2 packets a day, soaked in 150 ml warm water and taken once a day,Each time lasts about 30 minutes. The above treatment time is 14 days. Both groups used the Chronic Constipation Severity Assessment Scale(CSS),TCM Symptom Score Scale and Quality of Life Scale for Constipation Patients(PAC-QOL)to evaluate the curative effect.By comparing the scores of patients before and after treatment and observing whether there were any adverse reactions during the treatment, the clinical effect of Guipi Decoction combined with acupuncture on PD constipation was evaluated as a whole. All statistical data were analyzed by SPSS26.0.Results: 1.Comparing the four basic data of age, sex, constipation course and Hoehn-Yahr(revised)classification of Parkinson’s disease between the two groups before treatment, the results showed that the basic data of the two groups were comparable(P > 0.05).2.Comparison of constipation effective rate: After 14 days of treatment, the overall efficiency of constipation was 93.3% in the observation group and 76.7% of the control group, indicating that the treatment efficacy of Guipi Tang plus reduction combined with acupuncture was better than that of lactulose.3.Comparison of Chronic Constipation Severity Assessment Scale(CSS): After treatment, the score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(p < 0.05),which indicated that the severity of constipation in the observation group was significantly improved after the treatment of Guipi Tang plus and minus combined with acupuncture than before, and the efficacy was better than that of the control group.4.The average value of total points of TCM symptoms : in the observation group decreased to about 7.93 points after treatment, and the average value of total points in the control group decreased to about 17.97 points, from the above it can be seen that the total points of both groups decreased significantly after treatment, and the total points of TCM symptoms in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(p < 0.05),and the difference between the changes before and after treatment in the two groups was also statistically significant(p < 0.05),and the observation group The magnitude of the change in the score before and after treatment was about 16.24 points, which was obviously higher than that of the control group, which showed that the improvement of the TCM symptoms in the observation group was superior to that of the control group.5.Comparison of single TCM symptom scores: There was no significant difference in TCM symptoms of dry stool between the two groups after treatment(P > 0.05),indicating that both groups were effective in treating dry stool; In terms of the duration of intervals between bowel movements, the points of the treatment group were much lower than those of the observation group(p < 0.05),indicating that lactulose has an advantage over the observation group in increasing the frequency of bowel movements;in terms of the symptoms of straining to defecate, feeling of incomplete defecation, abdominal distension, dizziness, tiredness and weakness, spontaneous sweating, palpitation, and lack of color, the results of the comparison group were obviously lower after treatment(p < 0.05),suggesting that the combination of Guipi Tang plus reduction and acupuncture can be effective in alleviating the concurrent symptoms of deficiency of both qi and blood, while lactulose did not have this efficacy.6.Comparison of the scores on the Patient Quality of Life Scale(PAC-QOL)for continence: the PAC-QOL score was about 77.37 in the observed group and about 77.33 in the controlled group before treatment;after treatment, the points dropped to about 57 in the observed group and about 67.20 in the controlled group, and the observation group was noticeably below the control group after treatment(p < 0.05),which demonstrated that the observation group was more useful than the control group in relieving constipation This reflects that the observation group has better performance than the control group in relieving patients’ emotions and enhancing the life quality of constipation patients.7.During the course of therapy, the two groups of patients showed no symptoms except their own symptoms after taking traditional Chinese medicine, and the acupuncture treatment was simple and widely accepted by patients. Conclusion: The treatment of PD constipation of the qi and blood deficiency type by combining acupuncture with gong spleen soup plus reduction can significantly reduce the severity of chronic constipation of patients, its clinical efficacy is significant, and also can effectively improve the Chinese medicine symptoms of the qi and blood deficiency type, and can improve the quality of life of patients with constipation, reduce the psychological burden of patients, less adverse reactions of patients in the treatment process,no toxic side effects of drugs, high acceptance of acupuncture, the whole clinical trial is more safe. |
