In life,metaphors are everywhere,and metaphors play an inestimable role in human cognition and social activities.There are a large number of metaphorical vocabulary in Chinese,and for foreign Chinese learners who use Chinese as their target language,proficiency in metaphorical vocabulary is an inevitable requirement for improving language ability and communication ability,so the acquisition of metaphorical vocabulary by intermediate and advanced Chinese learners should be paid attention to.Based on the previous research,this paper takes the metaphorical vocabulary in the textbook "Times-Advanced Chinese Newspaper Reading Course" as the research content,takes intermediate and advanced Chinese learners as the research object,investigates and analyzes their metaphorical vocabulary acquisition by means of questionnaires,and describes the cognition of metaphorical vocabulary of intermediate and advanced Chinese learners according to the survey results,revealing the reasons for the different metaphorical comprehension ability of intermediate and advanced Chinese learners.This paper has five chapters,the first chapter mainly introduces the reason for the topic selection,research purpose and significance,research status,research methods and ideas.The second chapter defines metaphorical vocabulary on the basis of previous research,and analyzes and summarizes the characteristics and types of metaphorical vocabulary.Chapter 3 focuses on the metaphorical vocabulary in the textbook "Times: Advanced Chinese Newspaper Reading Course",and conducts quantitative statistics and qualitative analysis of the selected metaphorical words.Chapter 4 tests the metaphorical vocabulary acquisition of intermediate and advanced Chinese learners through questionnaires,collects statistics and analyzes the factors affecting metaphorical vocabulary acquisition.In Chapter 5,the author puts forward corresponding suggestions from three aspects: teachers,Chinese learners and teaching materials.The results of this paper show that the factors that have a significant impact on the acquisition of metaphorical vocabulary by Chinese learners are mainly the cultural background of the mother tongue,Chinese level,Chinese learning time,context,difficulty of metaphorical vocabulary,and cultural connotation of metaphorical vocabulary.However,gender factors,age factors and classroom language environment factors did not have a significant impact on the acquisition of Chinese learners.Based on the results of the survey and research,this paper puts forward corresponding suggestions from three aspects: teachers,Chinese learners and teaching materials,in order to provide some references for the teaching and acquisition of metaphorical vocabulary.
