Elastic prop model tension system of band saw machine is a new model tension system. It has a significant meaning to study the new model tension system for improving dynamic design and characteristics of band saw machine and wood processing quality. The studying object of the dissertation is the MJ3 17 model band saw machine with elastic prop model tension system, which tak拁s the place of original lever weight model tension system. Using LaGrange theorem on base of analyzing the elastic prop model tension system of band saw machine, the dynamics model of elastic prop tension system of band saw machine has been established and converted to mathematics model applying the modem control theory. A computer simulation has been made for the elastic prop model tension system of the band saw machine on idling condition. An experimental study on the elastic prop model tension system and lever weight model tension of band saw machine has been made on different conditions using a big capability DASP6.5 model computer data collecting and analytical system, According to contrast analysis, the simulation results gained on the MATLAB platform are identical with the testing ones. It shows that the established model is right. Through system mutuality analysis, mutuality power spectrum analysis and self-power analysis it is made clear that the response time-delay of the elastic prop model tension system of band saw machine is O.052s, which has decreased by 57% as compared with the lever weight model tension system. In the process of simulation an analysis of changing relation of system input to output has been made using software package SIMI JL[NK. It provided an efficient method for dynamic analysis of band saw machine, Optimizing structure design of elastic prop model tension system made this research much more practical. Saw cutting experiment shows that mouth of wood cut by band saw machine with elastic prop model tension system is less than with lever weight model tension system. The contrast of the simulation to the experimental results under idling shows that the elastic prop model tension system is evidently better than the lever weight model tension system according to the saw band vibration. The dissertation settled the base for further researching mechanical tension system of band saw machine applying computer simulation technology. It is also proved that the elastic prop model tension of band saw machine has a good applying prospect.
