Temper rolling is an important method to improve strip quality. But the accurate calculation of rolling force is the key to solve the problem of strip shape on temper mill. In order to improve shape of strip on 2050 temper mill and 1550CAL temper mill in BaoSteel Corp, a practical model is established which is based on theoretical analysis and on-site test for accurately reckoning the rolling force. The paper mainly includes the following parts:On base of the boundary conditions on the contacting surface between the strip and rolls, the balancing differential equation of unit pressure is established. Considering of elastic deformation of the planishing strip, the deformation zone is divided into elastic deformation area and plastic deformation area. The distribution formula of pressure along the contact arc is deduced according to the deformation formula and the surface balancing formula of strip. The length of contact arc between the strip and rolls is calculated with boundary conditions. And the total force equals integration of the rolling force in all deformation areas.The distribution of inhomogeneous level stress at entry and exit of elastic deformation zone is studied. And a practical model for calculating rolling force is set up by boundary conditions at the two locations. In order to verify the accuracy of the model, many on-site experiments are made on 2050 temper mill and 1550CAL temper mill in BaoSteel Corp. And it is done to contrast the experimental value with theoretical value.At last, the expression of shape of strip is represented. The selection of elongation is analyzed for erasing shape flaw. And the way of simulating the corresponding relation between elongation and rolling force is provided which is help to control elongation and select rolling force on temper mill.
