Steel industry is the supporting industry in national economy; also it's an industry of dense resource, dense energy and of large amount of pollution letting. In recent years, based on structure adjustment and technology progress, the national steel industry has reached remarkable achievement in energy-saving, material-saving and reducing of pollution letting. But due to the continuous rapidly increasing of steel yield; increasing amount of resource consumption and pollution letting, the development of steel industry in our country is facing the austere challenge from resource and environment. Process of iron and steel manufacturing is the key factor that effects on cost, energy consumption and environmental load of the steel-making enterprise, While the process is different, its energy consumption, material consumption and environmental load will be different, too. Therefore, it is important to accurately recognize and analyze the energy consumption and environmental load in different process. Based on analysis of product structure, selecting reasonable techno-parameters and equipments, taking optimization of process, energy-material-saving and reducing environment load into account, increasing the efficiency of integrated process, are of generally guidance for increasing of comprehensive competition capability and realizing sustainable development step by step. The dissertation is focused on this subject, and main contents are shown as follow:The basic concept has been established for environmental load in iron and steel manufacturing process; the life cycle characters of product and actuality of iron and steel enterprise in our country were analyzed, and the half-life cycle analysis method was put forward, whose boundary is iron and steel manufacturing process; evaluation index and index system for environment load of iron and steel enterprise were created, and the application of index system has been discussed. The research will try to provide theoretical warrant and method for research of environment load of steel industry.Applying the standard material flow diagram, method for analysis of material acting on atmosphere environmental load was brought forward.
