The modernized rolling mill of wide strip usually allocates kinds of gauge and shape adjusting device, these devices composed a complex controlling system. Rolling velocity,equipment characteristic of control adjusting and design of press schedule were effecting stable of rolling process commonly. So far as to, the same equipment being used, the result is not the same when the form of the controlling system is different.,and hot tandem rolling is a modernized process that has high degree accuracy, high speed, high quality, automation and serialization. The yield of hot tandem rolling is too big, so it's not only very difficult but also expensive to test the factors which have effects to the accuracy of the strip in practice, so the researching using the simulation to hot tandem rolling and its automatic control system has a very important significance to comprehend the mechanics of tandem rolling, find the optimum way of controlling and train operation crews.In the past time, the simulation method was to program with the general language. Although it can calculate some rolling parameters under the conditions, but not fit to research the equipment characterization of tandem rolling with this way. In the same reason, the language structure also decides that the simulation block is not easy to translation. So it is not fit to analyze rolling speed with the controlling system of the tandem rolling. It should be done that to find excellent program way, avoiding the restriction for programming.A new figure method has been adopted to simulate the hot tandem rolling process in this paper. Some block with functional module were built using the packaging technology and the programming skill with figure which the MATLAB/Simulink supplied. Finally the whole simulation model can be assembled with those subfunctional modules. When modifying the simulation system,it is equal changing the line between blocks to changing the hardware in site, substituting the subfunctional block to substituting the equipment. So operability is enhanced singnificantly,and amount of work being reduced notably.By simulating in this way, the dynamic change record of tandem rolling and its controlling system can be obtained. Because MATLAB/Simulink have strong aftertreatment ability, it analyses the result conveniently. By the way, the users can also reassemble the models and compose new simulation system, and the influencing factors in the tandem rolling process can be appraised and optimized. In order to increase the accuracy, the model in the module can be improved with the progress of theory and the field data.In this thesis, the author uses C++ Builder6 and MATLAB6.0 to develop the software. MATLAB/Simulink is got the data by C++ Builder with the way to call the MATLAB engine in the integration environment of C++ Builder. The simulation is running on single P4 computer,usually spend for four minute,most ten minute.The results indicate that the interface of this software is kind and can manipulate easily. The module is independencet,each layer being clear very much.,inquiring and modifying being easy. This method provides a new tool to the best designing and the best controlling for the rolling automatic control system.
