The development process of large comPlex weaPon system such as missile, aircraft has along period. Intimate interaction is required between the user (the military) and the designer(the industry) to realize the military operation purpose of weaPon system during the process.Traditionally, the design process of weaPon system consists of the following steps: the userputs forward requirements, and the designer goes thIough scheme argumentation, preliminarydesign, detail design and finalizes the design, finally weaPon system is handed over to themilitare to operate. System conceptual design mainly utilizes automated tools based computerto accomplish the design of weaPon system while reducing time and lowing cost, and evaluatethe combat effectiveness of weaPon system in simulation environment.Nevertheless as far as it goes the improvemeni of efficiency of weaPon system design iseven not poor but limited and far behind the amicipaton considering the cost put into this fieldwith the light of advanced compllter tool. The main reason is the complexity and difficulty ofinteraction arnong users and models from different discipline. The aPplication tools aPplied tomissile system design deal with complex comPuting models and data models, and that thedesign process is quite complex itself, all which make interaction among aPplications quitedifficult, accordingly the efficiency of design is very lowAn integrated method is proposed to solve the difficulty of interaction amongmulti-disciplinary and different designers and tO promote design efficiency, shorten cycle andreduce cost of the design. Under the support of computer integration frarnework, using productmodel to share design information, and otilizing process model to represent the cooperateddesign process, the integration of system conceptual design can effectively solve theinteraction problem.The data exchange among aPplications is one of key technologies of integration.Traditional product model is expanded to represent data requiremellt of product lifecycle, andhow to realize data exchange among applications is discussed. The emphasis is put on how tosolve data exchange among heterogeneous domains. A maPping method based on semanicfeature is thoroughly discussed, and a maPping language based the method is put forward,which can be used to facilitate data exchange among heterogeneous data sources because of itsformalization.Another research area is design process modeling, Which suPPorts system concePtualdesign integration and is the key of integration among multi-tasks and multi-users. A designprocess modeling theory is developed, which can depict design activities in the design processsuch as selection of design variables, iteration and feedback, and optimiZaion of the design.Furthermore design process model is linked to product model to support interaction among applications and users.The main innovations of this dissertation can be concluded as follows. Firstly, the product model is expanded, which makes representation of interaction information among applications flexible and extensible and can meet changeable requirements from different domains including simulation besides design and analysis. Secondly, based on detailed analysis about product model and application integration, a mapping method is introduced to solve data exchange among heterogeneous domains, which is a formal way to facilitate application integration. Thirdly, a design process modeling theory is developed which can represent the flow of activities in system conceptual design process easily. Finally, in order to accommodate various design activities of system conceptual design process, an integration framework that combines all of above three aspects is put forward and implemented.The achievement of this dissertation can enrich methodology of engineer systems engineering, and is also beneficial in theory and practice to both the development of weapon system and the link between military acquisi...
