Along with the requirements of the rapid response to the products from the market and the unceasing development of the computer information technology,the design of products such as design target,design method, design thought and design process,are changed greatly.Meanwhile,the computer aided design tools and the product design management systems has been applied gradually.So the traditional methods for the product cannot satisfy the rapid response design of product to the market.By analizing the researches on the product process, rapid design technology and the integration between CAD and PDM systems in both abroad and at home, and four problems which are in the process of product design are found.the thesis propose a new business model for product design supported by the digitilization and the informationization of computer technology.So there are four main points to research to come true that new business model of rapid product design.The four main points as following:First,by studying the bi-directional integration technology of the data and functions between CAD and PDM systems,the integrated struction between CAD and PDM systems is proposed,and the key problems about this integration are studied and the solution of these key problems is given.Second,by analyzing the needs of the engineering calculation,which is not CAE analysis and calculation,and the function struction of the library of design formulas for this engineering calculation is designed,and the model of library for building,called and managing the library is maked,and then the methods to achieve this library are studied.Third, by analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of the process of the assebly design for the traditional and contemporary assembly processes,the new process that is MFD&HP(Multi-Form Design and Hybrid Process) assembly process is proposed.This new procss combines the advantages of the two processes with the two design parttens that contain the new design and variant design.The methods for building the CDTS(Constrain-Driven Top-level Skeleton) model is given, the definition for the constrained rules of product assembly, the model for the rules library and the 3D part'models which can be parameterized.Fourth,by setting basical design envirenment of the system, the methods for defining the templetes for the files of the part,the assembly and the drawing is given,the technology of the integration based on that files bweent 3D and 2D for non-graphic information in the engineering drawing is presented.Last,the design system of the integration between CAD and PDM systems of product rapid response design is developed on the Solidwors2008,which is based on the windows platform and with the Visual C++ development tools. And then, the validity of this system was demonstrated via a case study of reducer design. The application result shows that this solution has a good consistency among the 3D model,2D model and PDM , and can realize the product rapid response design.
