With analyzing the new challenges of manufacturing, the new requirements of informalization, and the state-of-the-art of the information integration, the concept of integration point was presented. The dissertation studied the identification process of the integration point; presented the qualification and quantification identification technologies to identify the integration point; studied the requirement analysis and description tools of information integration, presented an integration point multi-view model; constructed a framework of information integration platform; presented the design principles, objectives, methods, process and tools to design the shared data schema of the integration point; proposed the mapping mechanism between heterogeneous data schemas; designed and developed an information interaction component of the integration point. The proposed methods and technologies were applied successfully in practice. The research content of the dissertation includes:In chapter 1, the new challenges facing manufacturing and the new requirements of the information systems were analyzed. On the basis of reviewing state-of-the-art on information integration, the research objective, contents and framework of the dissertation were proposed.In chapter 2, the identification technology of the integration point was studied. Two identification technologies were proposed: three-step qualification identification technology and quantification identification technology based on time cost. The qualification identification technology identifies the integration point by three steps according to the integration point definition. In the quantification identification technology, the time cost was defined as the criteria for identifying the integration point and defining its priority. To show the time cost of activity intuitionally, the time value chain model was applied to build the activity time cost model of the business process.In chapter 3, the analysis and description of the information integration requirement were studied. An integration point multi-view model was presented, which consists of activity view, resource view, integration chain view and requirement view. The activity view is used to analyze and describe the internal structure of the integration point; the resource view is used to analyze and describe the function, data and actor of the activity; the integration chain view is used to analyze and describe the process logic between the integration points; the requirement view is used to analyze and describe the integration requirements between the integration points.In chapter 4, the integration platform was studied.
