| Since Buddhism and Zen came into china, they have accomplished the impact and fusionwith Confucianism and Taoism in the course of their rooting and growing, formed a kind ofChinese Buddhism and Chinese Zen, which is greatly different from the taste of IndianBuddhism. They had a profound and permanent influence on every aspect of the culture ofChina. Especially, the philosophy and aesthetics of classical Chinese garden, have beenbranded by Buddhism deeply, not only temple garden, but also royal and private ones.Buddhism and Zen have made combination of classical Chinese garden on form and on spiritwith religion and Zen, which have influenced permanently on aesthetics category, artisticproposition, garden style, design means and aesthetic perceive degree. Especially aftermetaphase of Tang dynasty, Zen has been gradually accepted by scholar-bureaucrat and haspenetrated into their culture mentality and artistic spirit deeply with establishment and boomof Zen, whose influence on classical garden has been deeper and more popular. But for a longtime, the research on this field has not been penetrated into by the academe, so that there arelots of blank even mistaken opinions. In order to make up the regret, the thesis begins research by the core method ofphilological research and field survey, to explore the deep-seated combination between Zenand classical Chinese garden and to explore the concrete expressive form, consciously usingcontemporary philosophical methods such as structuralism, hermeneutic etc.. In order toanalyzing the Zen's influence on classical Chinese garden deeply and comprehensively, thethesis is composed of two parts. The first half explains the mental process and culturecharacteristic of Zen according to Zen's developing process which is divided into threehistorical phases: WeijinNanbei Dynasty, Suitang Dynasty and behind Song Dynasty. It clarifiesthe cultural combination between Zen and Confucianism, Taoism, Metaphysics, etc.,explores the influence on social cultural mentality, landscape art spirit, and analyzes thespecial cultural phenomenon which Zen had influenced on temple garden, royal garden andprivate garden in every period. It concludes macroscopically many important influences onthe spirit imagery of garden, aesthetic perceive degree and so on. The second half takes QingDynasty's royal garden as an idiographic example to research, investigates the combinationbetween Zen and royal garden, and exposes influence on the perfect personality of Dayin andgarden conception of Qing's emperor by Zen. It also concludes the influence on spirit imageryof garden in Qing's royal garden according to the characteristics of different category,explores the means of unit design and group design of building and the means of naturaldesign in order to form artistic conception of Zen, and discusses the influence on sight-seeingmanner, aesthetic manner and aesthetic perceive degree in Qing's royal garden by some spiritsof Zen, such as theory of main body spirit,conception of testing on spot and method ofmiddle-seeing. On the end, listing some typical views, such as Shizilin, Qianchixue,Chishangju, Xixinting, the thesis translates and analyzes the spirit imagery of garden andaesthetic perceive degree, with the comprehensive conclusion of the first half and the secondone. |
