This dissertation presents a methodology of general requirement modeling for Mass Customization(MC). Aiming at the main characteristics and strategies of mass customization production, many methods and enable technologies of requirement modeling are discussed with systemic research, including requirement representation methods, requirement analysis methods and requirement driveline methods. These methods are able to effectively support the operation of mass customization production system. The holistic benefit of the implementation of MC pattern could be achieved successfully. Furthermore, this paper presents the evolutive implementation strategy for Chinese manufacturing enterprises. The feasibility and values of the methodology proposed by the dissertation are testified through the applications in an engineering project.The main research works of the dissertation are as follows:In the 1st chapter, a review and a summarize of the development and status of MC are presented. The new problems and tasks of requirement modeling research under MC pattern are analyzed detailedly. Moreover, this chapter illustrates the relationship between MC and requirement modeling. The background and contents of general requirement modeling for Mass Customization are also described briefly.In the 2nd chapter, after explaining the definition of General Requirement, a new concept put forward by this dissertation, the basic theories of requirement modeling for Mass Customization are explicated in detail. Then, this chapter presents a kind of requirement modeling process for bidirectional requirement information circle and the methodology of the whole research work. The system architecture of integrated platform for general requirement modeling is established. Furthermore, the relevant enable technologies adopted to realize the system are discussed.In the 3rd chapter, the deficiencies of current methods of requirement acquisition and representation are analyzed briefly at the beginning. Then, this chapter presents a methodology of requirement information cell for general requirement representation under the domain of Mass Customization. Based on the definitions of domain ontology, normativeness and reusability of requirement information are enhanced. Following that, an example of requirement semantics model under the architecture of WEB application is given to illustrate relevant enable technologies for the methods mentioned.In the 4th chapter, the methods of analysis and transformation of general requirement information are researched through multi views. From the view of information classification, the method of classification coding for general requirement is presented. From the view of customer group, this chapter presents the method of customer classification based on subdivision strategy and the method of evaluation weightiness of requirement based on the ABC analytical method. From the view of PFA, the analytical method of requirement mapping is discussed. From the view of rapid response to customer's requirement, this chapter presents the method of order configuration and requirement matching based on comparability analysis.In the 5th chapter, the technology of requirement driveline for the value chain of MC is put forward, including the integration of MC value chain based on requirement driveline and the construction of requirement driveline. The selection mechanism for cooperative alliance based on MC value chain is discussed. Then, this chapter presents several analytical methods of valuation used in MC requirement drive model, including valuation of customer weightiness, valuation of the degree of customer's satisfaction and analysis of product cost. The enable technologies of requirement driveline are discussed, including collaboration mechanism based on mobile agent and execution mechanism based on adaptable workflow.In the 6th chapter, on the basis of theoretic research above, the system platform of general requirement modeling for MC is developed.
