Research On The Theory Of Urban Space Basing On The Culture Ecology

Under a certain regional circumstance, urban space and city culture have inseparable relationship. This idea has been accepted in the academic circles already. But it is still rarely seen to carry on the comprehensive and systematic research, combining the development of urban space and the evolution of city culture together. One of the reasons is the lack of theory. This thesis leads culture ecology, the research achievement crossing over the realms as anthropology, geography, sociology, etc, into the study of urban space and city culture. It takes the city culture itself as an all-round ecosystem, which has close relationship with the concrete environment, such as natural condition, technique, economy, history, etc. Along with the progress of the economic globalization, "ecosystem balance" of culture was broken and the cultural "species" are dying away. In order to provide a right and all-round angle of view for the protection and development of the city culture, to make an overall understanding of the system of city culture from the angle of cultural ecosystem is necessary. Firstly, this study preliminarily constructs the understanding system of the city cultural ecosystem. Secondly, it studies on the development of urban space and the evolution of city culture comprehensively and systematically, using the ecological research method. This thesis discusses the ecological evolution process of urban space, from such three aspects as development power, cultural and ecological environment and the ecological evolvement of the city cultural species. In the practical study of the urban space evolution, this thesis analyzes the new characteristics of the development of urban space and city culture in the information society, from three aspects about urban space as material structure, social structure, and cultural structure. Meanwhile, it puts emphasis on the new traits of city cultural structure, such as cultural psychology, mode of thinking, social concept, idea of environmental landscape, etc, and forecasts that "returning to the humanism" is the direction of the urban space culture in the information society. Then, selecting three typical north coast cities with foreign culture, Tianjin, Qingdao and Dalian, as samples, the study analyses the ecological course of the emergence and development of the unique regional city culture, adopting the method of on-the-spot investigation and the-original-data consultation. Finally, concerning the present condition of our country, this thesis puts forward the strategy of the city foreign culture's conservation and development, with the increasing frequency of cultural exchange. And it also makes suggestions on development of the urban space culture meeting the need of information society.
