In view of the shortcoming in the former study on dynamic measurement technology of material flow on belt conveyors in manufacturing systems, the dynamic measurement theory of the material flow is studied systematically in this paper. A new kind of measurement system of the material flow is developed, and a great number of measurement experiments are carried out.Based on the practical moving conditions of the material flow, the mathematical models for dynamic measurement of the material flow are created. Two kinds of applied forms of the mathematical models, the form of integration over displacement and the form of integration over time, are proposed. Consequently, the generalized dynamic measurement mathematical models are brought out It lays a theoretical foundation for study of all kinds of dynamic measurement systems of the material flow.A new method of load sensing of the material flow is researched. The methods of design and analysis of static and dynamic quality of corresponding sensing system, Frame Integrated Load Sensing System, are founded. A practical measuring method of the displacement and velocity of the material flow is proposed. Based on the generalized dynamic measurement mathematical models, a new measurement method of the material flow is proposed. It is useful and can be realized easily, and can avoid the influence of many error factors on measurement precision.Two Frame Integrated Load Sensing Systems are developed. A new kind of measurement system of the material flow is developed.Finally, the comprehensive measurement experiments of simulated load and material flow are carried out. It proves that the dynamic measurement mathematical models and method are correct, and shows that the quality and character of the measurement system developed by this paper are excellent.
