With the development of long distance,high belt velocity and large amount of transportation of belt conveyor,dynamics characteristics of belt conveyor have important effect more and more on its steady working. In this paper a kind of digitizing measurement system of belt conveyor based on technology of single chip microcomputer and computer is researched and manufactured, this system can measure key dynamics parameters of belt conveyor and provides a kind of new test means for dynamics characteristics research of belt conveyor. Digitizing measurement system of belt conveyor is made up of upper level computer and lower level computer, the upper level computer realizes software development of operating interface and database by utilizing visual developing platform(C++Builder6.0), completes storage,redemonstration of measurement data and drawing of curves of tension and velocity ; The lower level computer mainly completes collection and display of belt tension and velocity signal of belt conveyor. Signals of tension and velocity are transformed as voltage signal and high or low level signal respectively by choosing suitable sensors, high precision calculating amplifier OP07(its benchmark can be adjusted) is chosen to deal with zero excursion of tension measurement sensor. Single chip microcomputer of ATmega8 is chosen as main control chip, voltage signals are collected through inside A/D convertor and time high or low level signal by utilizing its inside 16-bit timer, so integrated degree of hardware circuit is improved. System stability and ability of anti-jamming is improved by utilizing inside watch-dog timer and software trap in ATmega8. Single chip microcomputer communicates data with computer by adopting RS-232 bus standard. Experiments have been tested on belt transmission experiment platform which is designed by ourselves, measurement result (which is acquired by utilizing this digitizing measurement system of belt conveyor) is consistent with theory calculating result, it shows that this measurement system can measure tension and velocity of each key point on belt accurately and provides a kind of useful measurement tool for research on dynamics characteristics of belt conveyor...
