A new type of gear pump — balanced compound gear pump has been presented. The pump maintains the advantages of a conventional gear pump.This dissertation built the basic theory of the pump, which introduced its working principle, determined its distribution structure, designed its flow varying systems, and then it proved that the hydraulic pressure is totally balanced by means.of strict mathematical deduction.This paper investigated the flow characteristics of the pump, deduced the equation of the instantaneous flow and the pulsation of the pump. The result is that the flow pulsation of the pump is far smaller than that of the same type.In this dissertation, the author built a mathematical model of mechanical optimization. A universal program was designed and the result of optimization of the pump was obtained.On the base of optimization, the author designed the pump model. After experimental study, the conclusion was obtained that the balanced compound gear pump has good flow characteristics.
