Study On Urban Street Landscape Design Culture

The urban street landscpe(USL) is not only the import part of the urban street space ,but also the consistutation of urban open space system.It is a complex space system including both natural attribution and scocial property. The USL is not only bearing some urban cultural function, such as viewing, traveling, intercoursing, education, lie fallow, so is to consummate the framework and function of street space, but also taking the important role of protecting history landscape belt, constructing the city landscape characters, embodying city culture atmosphere. The USL is endowed densy cultural atmosphere and mold with cultural characters can satisfy the immaterial needs of modern life and reflect the art taste and aesthetic idea, so the lanscape have the art spirit and value and the urban visualize is active. The thesis is formed six parts: the first chapter is the basic theory introduction, including the basic concept, the sorts of urban street, and elements or characters of USL; the sccond chapter is the phylogeny of USL, including china traditional street, west ancientry citys, modern urban street landscape, and the cultural value and meaning to the USL, the syncretic relation between cultural and USL; the third chapter is issues and reasons of USL design culture, it set forth cultural characters actuality of USL, and analyses the reason of cultural absence. The fourth chapter is the core part of the thesis, it includs the principle,consideration,tacts,value systems,developing current,meaning of molding the cultural characters of the USL. It puts the molding methods of different types of USL; the fifth chapter is the demonstration research of nanjing city USL.Finally, several suggestions and views are given to mold the cultural characters of the USL from the above research of thesis.
