Research On Product Design Theory And Its Application Based On Axiomatic Design

Axiomatic Design as one of scientific product design methods has been widely used in developed countries. And it is improved greatly in recently years. The first international conference on Axiomatic Design is held in Cambridge on June 2000. Although many studies are made on this area, there are some shortcomings which need to be improved. With regards to this , some implement problems are studied in detail so as to make contributions to the study of Axiomatic Design theory and application on the basis of existing studies of Axiomatic Design . Therefore the research has important theory meanings and practical application values. The innovations are following aspects:1. The product design system framework and implementing technology based on Axiomatic Design are put forward. On the basis of definition and analysis to product design from Axiomatic Design viewpoint, by determining product design module and software design flowchart, the rapid design system framework of product Axiomatic Design based on CAD software is achieved.2. The product CAD modeling and implementing technology based on the Axiomatic Design and knowledge driven are put forward. Product CAD model based on Axiomatic Design is established. Product design knowledge is fused in the process of product three dimensional modeling by knowledge fusion, and then the control structure of a product based on the design knowledge is bulit. When the design constraints are changed, the product CAD model can automatically create and update. Then the product design intension and integrity are insured.3. The verification method and implementing technology of product CAD model based on Axiomatic Design are put forward. The verification process model of product CAD model is established.The CAD model verification rules are defined according to the product functions, and the algorithm description of the product CAD model verification rules are given.Since the model verification rules are expressed in classes,it is easy for designers to modify or add model verification rules , so that the ability of management and organization of model verification rules is increased. Designers can find the defects of product CAD model in product modeling, and improve the CAD model quality of products.4. On the basis of Axiomatic Design theory. the information calculation method of information axiom in Axiomatic Design is studied. The information calculation model is established, and the method of the optimum project in product design based on information axiom are proposed.
