From "Made In China" To "Created In China"

In order to make the college education of Industrial design in China meet the need of society development in China and abroad, the author sums up the situation about the education development of Industrial design in China, the advanced ideas of Industrial design abroad through the results of literature search, fieldwork and his teaching experience over 20 years, and makes an intensive study of many problems and factors in the development of education of Industrial design in China. In terms of education pattern, we should be clear that Industrial design is an applied subject with the connection of interdiscipline having the features of Engineering education and Practical art design and aiming at the improvement of the quality of living. The specialists brought up are facing market demands directly, therefore they should possess the good personality, sense of responsibility, "people oriented" design idea, the spirit and ability of innovation, organization and cooperation. The cruxes of the matter lie in three points as following: the correct ideas of running school, the distinctive industrial design education curriculum and the building of teachers.
