Industrial design education began in the early 20th century,in 1919 the establishment of the German Bauhaus school for the first,the 1950s,industrial design education in the world has mushroomed and gets great development.In China,the introduction of the concept of industrial design begins after the reform and opening up.Industrial design and industrial design education is basically draw as many useful lessons from as many countries as possible.One of the know-how of good design education is to research on the design teaching system of developed countries,it will help us more directly and profound understand the shortcomings of ours.Analysis other people's strengths,will help us summing up a set of design to fit the status of the Chinese education system.In view of this,this paper aimed at industrial design professional of Duisburg Germany - Essen University and Zhejiang University,targeted the two schools on the development of industrial design professional history and curriculum characteristics. A comparative analysis of their differences was followed in order to draw a conclusion that some significant distinctions existed in seven aspects which are students' resources,art basic subjects,practice lessons,designed issue training, quality of teachers,ability for perform,computer training.Finally,according to their own historical development and the problems existing in its curriculum of Wuhan University of Technology,from the four aspects,which conclouded the definition of training objectives,accurate position for characteristics of professional,optimization for school characteristics,establishment of characteristic teachers,the conclusions of my own ideas and improved on the future of China's industrial design education prospects were drawn from the two schools' introduction.In this paper,the basic framework for the four major parts:The first part of this paper is the first chapter.Through the proposed questions, the research background,the overview of purpose and significance,the definition of research methods and the analysis of industrial design features,define the focus of this paper were the content and direction.The second part of this paper is divided into the second chapter to the fourth chapter,it based on comparative analysis.The chapter two shows us the characteristics of undergraduate,postgraduate and short-term training courses in direction of industrial design of German Duisburg - Essen University,and analysis the distinctions and reasons of the three different stages of their curriculum.The chapter three focuses on China's Zhejiang University's introduction of characteristics for undergraduate,postgraduate and Master of Engineering Program in industrial design major,analysis the differences and reasons of the features as well.The chapter four compares the difference between the two schools,summed up the reason to those differences and the results should be produce.Part three divided into Chapter five,the paper based on outlook of the Enlightenment.Chapter five introduce to us the curriculum's characteristics of undergraduate and postgraduate degree in industrial design in our school,and analysis the definite of cultivate target,but also gave some suggestions on how to create more characteristic industrial design professionals of our school.Part four of this paper is chapter six,it display some of the conclusions of this paper.
