Study On Progress And Mechanism Of Urban Spatial Structure Of Mining City

The urban spatial structure has always been the core field research focus of urban geography. The mining city is a kind of resource city which mining and primary process was in domination. It is one of the results when economy has developed into a certain historical stage, and it is urgent to achieve transformation in current complicated domestic and international environment. So, the transformation of the city's economy must come with the response of urban spatial structure. The urban spatial structure of mining city has instability according to potent influence of natural resources and industry development. It is a typical research object for spatial sustainable development that based on natural resources and industry transformation. This study firstly comprehensive analysis the foundation theory and method in geography, economics, environmentology and sociology. Then, aiming at the focus and frontier problems of urban geography and national demands in mining city's sustainable development, the study systematic summarize the theory frame in spatial pattern, evaluation progress, formation mechanism and spatial sustainable development model of the mining city's urban spatial structure along the geography research way of process—pattern—mechanism. At last, the paper take case study in the northeast China's typical mining city. There are five chapters in this paper.The first chapter is the theoretic preparation section. This section systematic summarizes the basic theory of urban spatial structure and research progress of mining city at home and abroad, and elucidates the paper's theoretical and practical significance, and then put forward the paper's research plan.The second chapter is pattern analysis. Depend on summary of the mining city's concept, definition and classification and the basic problems of urban spatial structure, the paper chose 33 acknowledged mining cities as research objects, and analyses the data in society, economy and special structure, and then summarizes in characteristics of social and economic development, location choice of urban spatial structure, characteristics urban spatial morphology, and summarizes the mining city's general characteristics of spatial structure, function spatial structure, special problems and basic types as well.The third chapter is progress study. In this section, the paper studies the spatial structure characteristic and spatial expansion model of mining city according to specific social and economic conditions in different historical period, especially the city's stage and the different mining city's characteristics in function division, road network, core region, residential land, spatial differentiation of industrial land, space expansion model, etc. and space-time coupling with corresponding socioeconomic background.The fourth chapter is mechanism research. It is the section of key, difficulty and innovation of this paper. In this section, the paper made a study on the formation and evolution of the mining city's urban spatial structure. Then, the paper takes research in coupling mechanism between the formation of spatial structure and nature-society for mining city from the urban internal factors such as natural environment, historical basis, social humanistic structure and the urban external factors such as policy, economy, society, etc. The key part is the research of kinetic mechanism and general law of its formation for formation of mining cities that of different types and in different stages. At the same time, researchs in the process of sef-organization and exterior-organization and hackles the organization subject and the organization process, and then proposes the spatial sustainable development model for the mining city according to the goal of city's spatial sustainable development.The fifth chapter is case study. It has certain social practice significance by theory with practice. In this section, the paper chooses typical mining cities in the northeast China as case study. They are Daqing which is the oil city, Fushun which is the coal city and Anshan which is the steel city. Then, I studis the evaluation process & mechanism for urban spatial structure and the mechanism & way in sustainable development of these different mining cities, and proposes the spatial strategy of the mining city's sustainable development.
