The Probe Into Spatial Pattern Of The Acient Shangqir City Under The Effect Of The Yellow River

The Yellow River had flowed through the area of Shangqiu for over 700 years, which had caused far-reaching influences to the local environment and the urban construction. During the resisting of flood, the ancient Shangqiu City had changed its traditional mode and constructed a highly effective flood control system. With strong regional characteristics of Yellow River Flood Plain, it gradually formed a unique pattern of urban space, and has been a typical representative of such cities.This paper makes the ancient Shangqiu city as the research object, AD 1502 to now as the study time frame. With historical research, field surveys and other methods, divided the evolution of the spatial pattern of the ancient Shangqiu city into seven main areas as city wall, outside water system, the city pond, city size and regional folk customs; by the ancient Shangqiu city experienced flooding of the Yellow River before, during, and after four periods of the Yellow River after the historical evolution of the spatial pattern of a detailed analysis, summarized in the evolution of law, to re-discover the ancient city of the contemporary value of the ancient Shangqiu city; concluded its unique spatial pattern of urban development for the current and the role and significance of flood control; and to further explore the ancient city ways and update methods of protection, restoration and authenticity proposed incremental update spatial pattern of combining the ancient city protection and utilization patterns.
