Good Aquaculture Feed Manufacturing Practice (GMP): Development And Production Testing In China

This paper analyzed the whole manufacturing process in aquafeed enterprise to find the operational factors which affect the quality of aquafeed in the practice of China, and to develop a well quality control system of good manufacturing practice (GMP) in site location and design of the manufacturing facilities, selection and purchasing of raw ingredients, receiving of ingredients, feed formulation and manufacturing, packaging and labeling, warehousing and shipping, marketing, personnel training and resources management. These guidelines include①The aquafeed practice of manufacturing building, facilities, equipment, environmental safety and housekeeping.②The aquafeed practice of selection and purchasing of raw ingredients, including ingredient checking and quality control.③The aquafeed practice of feed formulation and manufacturing, packing and labeling, warehousing, shipping and marketing.④The traceable information system from ingredients purchasing, manufacturing, marketing to client.⑤The training system of aquafeed management, manufacturing, feed usage and personnel training.We put it into practice in aquafeed company based on these systems to explore its existing questions and future development, and finally to provide a reference frame in the practice of GMP in the aquafeed in China. During the demonstration, we found that the supervision and management departments of the company took GMP as a non-certified part during the HACCP (hazard analysis critical control point) system and ISO 9001 (International Standardization Organization) certification, which result in the simplification and formalization. And in order to quickly seek good results, most company took the HACCP and ISO9001 certification or ISO 14000 certification directly instead of well-finished GMP first which impair the role of GMP in controlling production process and enhancing the quality of products.
