Research On Application Of Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) In Raft Culture Of Abalone At Sea

Good Agricultural Practice (referred to as GAP) is a set of scientific management standards for all aspects of agricultural products (including crop cultivation and animal breeding, etc.), which is one of the effective means and tools to improve the quality and safety of food and agricultural products in the world. So far, in most countries including the European Union, the United States, China and Australia, GAP has been widely applied in agricultural production. GAP by adhering the advanced core concept "from farm to table" has gradually become a new technical measures set by the developed countries, which makes it more difficult for agricultural products from China to export to these countries. There are still some farmers using their experience of illicit drugs to prevent and treat disease in the breeding process of abalone products, which resulted in abalone products drug residues exceeding limitation and hindered product export. At present, even though series standards of GAP have been established in China, such as the related standards of aquatic products and cage culture of aquatic products, but the standards of GAP for abalone production has still not been established yet according to abalone product characteristic, so it is necessary to formulate the GAP of whole chain abalone aquaculture production. The results of this study are as follows:1. Good agricultural practice of raft culture of abalone at sea is established basing on the series national standards of the People’s Republic of China "good agricultural practice-Part1, Part13, Part16, Part23, with the combination of Putian maritime raft abalone breeding situation.2. Research and establishment of GAP on maritime raft abalone breeding, relates to perspectives including employee health, safety and welfare, seedling and abalone breeding sites, facilities, equipment, seedling and abalone farming inputs, seedling and abalone breeding management; environmental protection, appraisal of raw safety control of processing enterprises, realizes the traceability of abalone products from seed to raw materials and finished products.3. Two companies, including Yilai (Putian) Ocean Fisheries Co., Ltd. and Yilai (Fujian) abalone products Co., Ltd. were selected to verification of the specification lines and analysis of the verification results. The results show that: the implementation of this specification is effective to regulate the abalone processing, to reduce veterinary drug residues in abalone. The improvement on quality of health and safety of abalone products in Singapore and other import countries, lead to a substantial increase in exports, and create long-term economic benefits for the enterprise.
