The Study On Good Agriculture Practice (GAP) Of Cinnamomum Cassia Presl

Cortex Cinnamomi, the dried cortex of Cinnamomum cassia Presl of Lauraceae, is a common Chinese medicine included in the 2000's pharmacopoeia of People's Republic of China. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Cortex Cinnamomi is an important "hot properly" drug: it is used to rid the chilliness of body. Cortex Cinnamomi is of great curative power in relieving internal cold or ache or weakness conduced by cold. It is also powerful to a variety of other chronic and urgent diseases. In foreign country , it is used as food additive and spices. We give it a comprehensive literature survey , including : history recordation, species resources, cultivation technique, chemical components, pharmacological effects and quality control.GAP, Good Agriculture Practice of Medicinal Plants and Animals, is to guarantee and standardize the cultivation and production of the medicinal material during the whole process; and to product the Chinese medicines (raw materials) with "verity", high quality, standardization, and controllable. The GAP research of Cinnamomum cassia Presl is supported by the Science and Technology Department of Guangdong province, and the cultivation research base is selected in Guangdong Province, embodying and conforming to the principle "originality" of the Chinese medicine. Mostly, evaluating and warranting the qualities of Cinnamomum cassia Presl is crucial in the progress of the research and cultivation. The establishment of GAP Standard Evaluation of Cinnamomum cassia Presl carries great on the process of the research, and supplies the formulation of SOP (Standard Operational Practice) data needed. Standard Operational Practice on GAP of Cinnamomum cassia Presl is worked out. The experiments showed that:1. During the research, the author investigated the cultivation bases of Cinnamomum cassia Presl, which is in Wulong Country, and the conclusion of the investigation and evaluation of the environment and qualities of water and soil shows it is suitable for the Cinnamomum cassia Presl's cultivation. So GAP of Cinnamomum cassia Presl was choosed in Wulong Country.2. We distinguished and described the shapes of the plant Cinnamomum cassia Presl. Through the crosscut slice miao-differentiation of crude drugs from different producing area, we found the fibres > stone cells and needle crystals have a few diffenencese: the crudes from Wulong and Cangwu have fewer needle crystal; the fibres of ones that import arrange into bunches while ones from Fangcheng are dispersed; the stone cells extend to the depths of the bast in the samples from Cangwu.3. We investigate the traditional cultivation technique and bring forward the key of breeding. It is to choose and popularize good varieties. The soil for breeding must be fertility, loosen, shady, and good to drain off water. The seeds must be ripe, plump, and planting in Feburary to March in spring. The shading, fertilizing, weeding must be done in the time of breeding. It is time for planting regularly when the seedling grows 15~30cm.4. Related studies on GAP technology of Cinnamomum cassia Presl were performed. The accumulating process of the very two main active components volatile oil and cinnamyl dldehyde had been studied and analyzed, and the results showed that the best harvest time is in autumn. In our research, the analysis and evaluation of the effects of using different fertilizers and pesticides are carefully managed. The residual contents of heavy metal irons and fertilizers and pesticides are warranted under the safe limits.5. The contents of cionamyl dldehyde contained in cortex of Cinnamomum cassia Presl were analyzed by reverse phase HPLC. The novel method of GC chromatographic fingerprints, showing much more complete and abundant information in the chromatographs, is also applied in the analysis and evaluation of the Cinnamomum cassia Presl from different sites, and the results well.6. Based on the experimental and analytical study in this paper, the quality level concerning to quality control to Cinnamomum cassia Presl is established.
