Beimu ( Fritillaria ) are bulbs of many species of plants from Fritillaria L. and are traditional Chinese drugs. They commonly used as antitussive and expectorant. It is reported that there are 61 species, 50 varieties, and 5 metatypics from Fritillaria. ChuanBeimu ( F. crrihosa ) is a important traditional Chinese drug in Sichuan province . The clinical effect of ChuanBeimu is fine, so it's marketing price is utmost among all of Beimu. This is confusing for consumers on market because that other Beimu could fake ChuanBeimu. It is important that source and quality of traditional Chinese drug in the modern course of Chinese drug. The challenge will face us that how to develop resource of traditional Chinese drug. In the paper, Geoherbalism- ChuanBeimu and other Beimu recoded in Chinese Pharmacopoeia were studied on Alkaloid, SDS, HPLC, Microelement, and Gene. A series of methods were studied for determining geoherbalism-ChuanBeimu. The base of realizing modern could be set up on Chinese drug of Beimu. GF14 widely occurs in plant species functioning as aregulatory protein in cell signal transduction. A partial sequence, 413 bp in length , was cloned from the bulbs of F. crrihosa by means of RT-PCR technique. Sequence alignment with the BLAST program shows that it has highly similarity with GF14 gene. A new M-length cDNA, 1133bp, was obtained by RACE techniques. It contains a major open reading frame of 262 amino acids, 5'and 3' untranslated regions and a long Poly (A) tail. Sequence analysis of deduced GF14 protein from F. crrihosa indicated several conserved motifs of GF14 proteins were also found in sequence of GF14 protein of F. crrihosa.
