In china forestry takes on the ecology environment construction and the great mission of promoting social sustainable development in 21 century. The forest is the main body of ecology environment construction. Firing is participating in the evolution and development of the ecology system when forest ecosystem is formed. Within the field of forest disaster firing is among the natural disaster which is the most devastating and widest for our society , environment and economical development. The happening of forest fire has the characteristics of inevitability and chance. How can we effectively control firing disaster and make use of forest fire it is urgent to implement dynamically monitoring for forest fire .The city of Guangzhou, as an international flower city, which has complicated topography and plenty of lighting and heating resource. The forestland area in Guangdong has increase greatly after ten years' forestation and large-scale action of putting Bareen Mountain to lush forest. There is a large proportion of middle age and young forest in Guangzhou; the tree population structure is haploid. In additional to dispersive natural village in suburb and frequently human being activities.so forest fire can occurs easily.The paper comes from the part content of the important technical project in Guangzhou which in charge of by myself. Projection name: forest fire prevention information system of GuangZhou city (number 20030197). Projection capital: 2006.6 thousand yuan. In the process of studies it bought meteorological satellite ground received station, prevention guiding car,ArcGIS8.3 geography information system platform which provided by ESRI company in US , the satellite image data digitial terrain map and thematic map of Guangzhou. It also investigating and collecting a lot of attribute data spatial data during the period of research . Through three years of studies and exploring work the system can work sucessfully at present and put it to use.The paper overviewed the present researching status and development trend of forest fire prevention forest fire monitoring and prevention. In the guide of the theory of system science ecology forest fire science information science and economics it deeply investigated social economics natural geography , urban foresty and forest fire prevention status of Guangzhou .To meet the requirement of forest fire prevention work which builds the city of Guangzhou into "forest surrounding city and city lies in the middle of forest" ecosystem metropolis, by means of geography information system, remote sensing, global positioning system, computer technique, wireless communciation technique, virtual imitation technique, mathematical methods the paper studied forest fire hazard region, fire point positioning, fire spreading and simulation, fire prevention problem of the city of Guangzhou .The results are following:(1) Applying to the TM image through digitial image processing, it collects spatial data of forest fire hazard factors, then draws up combustible type classification table and fire hazard analysis table by synthesis method and evaluation. Applying to image overlay of GIS spatial database and natural attribute database categorization then we design forest fire hazard region and draw the map of fire hazardregion(scale 1:5 0000) in Guangzhou city based on dynamic cluster method.(2) Making use of firing hazard weather material in 1997-2001.combining into the results of fire hazard region and the changeable regularity, referring to the forecast method of forest fire hazard weather in china. It develops the forest fire hazard weather forecasting system within 1-2 days of the city of Guangzhou, by means of this system we can produce automatically forest fire hazard weather grade distribution graph.
