Wheat male sterile lines with Ae.kotschyi cytoplasm play an important role in the utilization of heterosis. They have some advantages, such as little side effects and more restoring resources in common wheat cultivars. The major disadvantage that prevents it from being widely used in field production is that many restorers have a relatively lower and unstable restoring ability..A set of crosses between different sterile lines and restorer lines were made, and segregating populations were derived. The inheritance of fertility restorer genes, the genetic difference of "easy restoration of fertility" (ERF) among different sterile lines, and the stability of fertility restoration in different environments were studied. The restore genes were mapped to chromosomes using molecular markers. . The results showed as follows:1. Fertility segregation in backcross populations derived from sterile line (A-line)//maintainer line (B-line)/restorer line (R-line) showed that the R-lines with different restoring ability had different amount of fertility restorer genes. Yumai 2, which has strong restoring ability, carries two pairs of major fertility restorer genes, while Yumai 49 and Yumai 66, which have lower restoring ability, carry only one pair of genes2. Fertility segregation in backcross populations derived from A-line/R-line //B-line showed that the female gamete without any restoring gene could function normally under Ae.kotschyi cytoplasm background, while that of backcross populations derived from A-line//A-line/R-line showed that the male gamete could not.3. The backcross population K-type Yumai3//Yumai3/Yumai2 was used to map the fertility restorer genes. Five out of one hundred and seventy-nine SSR markers polymorphic between two parents were linked to the fertility restorer genes. Four SSR markers that were previously located on chromosome 1BS, Xgwm18, Xgwm11, Xgwm374 and BARC061, were linked to one fertility restorer gene, which we believe to be the gene "Rfv1". The genetic distances between these markers and Rfv1 were...
