To gain wheat in time and to raise the productivity of the harvesting machinery are the important guarantee of wheat high yield. The key to raise the productivity of harvester is to raise its unit productivity of harvesting cutter. Now, there are two kinds of cutter adopting on wheat harvesting machinery, reciprocating type and rotary type. The reciprocating type cutter harvesters have wider cut spacing and walk slowly; Rotary type cutter harvesters have narrower cut width and walk rapidly. To increase the productivity of harvester ideal harvester should be with broad cut width and rapid ground speed. Therefore a kind of high speed wheat harvester with above properties has been developed in this program.This harvester overhangs in front of tractor frame with vertical cutting head and make the cut stalk of standing grain quick rush in on cut attachment, then pushed by conveyer belt to throw through side. The harvester primarily consists of cutter, driving system, conveying and throwing devices.Rotary belt-type cutter and the chain-type cutter of tooth form have been chosen to research, and better one is selected through testing and comparison experiments.The experiments showed that both rotary belt cutter and the jagged chain cutter can realize high speed cut with high ground speed, the former cut speed and operating speed can reach 17 m/s and 15 km/h separately, and the latter can reach 7 m/s and 13 km/h responsively. They are steady to work, little to cut vibration, neat and no tearing of cut, and without phenomenon of leakage, repeat and blocking cut. They are suitable for reaping herbage and the thin stem of crops such as wheat and paddy. But the reliability of the jagged chain cutter is higher than that of rotary belt cutter. So the chain cutter has been chosen in the high speed harvester. Driving device adopts coaxial drive. Power from the decelerating gearbox directly give to driving axle, which drives the primarily sprocket wheel of cutter and driving pulley of conveying belt at the same time, that realize the organic combination of conveyer belt and cutter operation. Conveying mechanism adopts two up-and-down conveyer belts fitted with star wheels of collecting grains and throwing guide plate, implementing effective cooperation of high speed cut, high speed movement and high speed transportation.Experiment shows that high speed harvester is a kind of new with high speed and high efficient harvester. Have adopted the new chain-type cutter of tooth form, have realized high speed cut with high speed feed, it is the 3 times of the cutter of reciprocating type that it cuts speed to reach; Operating speed is the 1.5 times of the cutter harvester of reciprocating type; It is the 1.5 times of the cutter harvester of reciprocating type that unit cuts the productivity.
